HAving fun on the Wii

My Wii got here on Friday.  I set it up in the afternoon before the kids got home from school.  I was playing tennis and bowling and golf.  It was tons of fun but I don't know if someone as competitive as me should be allowed to playTongue out.  I was yelling at the tv, and jumping up and down, and doing all kinds of things that one would do when they are passionate about something.  It was fun.  The kids came home from school and did their Friday chores and homework.  By the time they were done, I was running kids to friend's houses to spend the night and then there was no time left to play the Wii for the ones that were still at home before Sean and I were to leave for dinner.  So the kids didn't get to play at all on Friday (I told them they weren't allowed to play it while we were gone because I want to be here to monitor it).  Sean and I went to a Chinese buffet to meet some people from church who were in our new dinner group.  The food was awesome as always.  After dinner, we went to get some groceries.  So it was a late night for us.

The kids finally got their first taste of our Wii on Saturday afternoon (the morning was spent running errands and bringing kids back home).  It is hard to manage taking turns between 6 kids.  And I still insist on being home when they play.  It is too expensive of a toy for it to be mistreated, or for them to be fighting over who gets a turn, which I am sure would happen if I am not here.  And I tell them it is mine, just to eliminate any argueing (it is my birthday gift to myself since Sean was too busy to take me out like he was going to....thats my story and I'm sticking to it).  Anyway, its a ton of fun, for all of us.  Well, except Dalaney who I think it is too young to do it.  After the kids went to bed last night, Sean and I bowled, golfed and played tennis.  I actually work up a sweat doing it...and I haven't even hooked up the Wii fit yet.  I am waiting to do that till tomorrow while the kids are at school so I can take my time and figure it all out without distractions and others fighting for it.

A friend had asked me at church today if Callah would be interested in doing Girl Scouts.  I said yes, I am sure she would probably love to, but I am not looking to add one more thing to my schedule.  She is already wanting to do volleyball, whenever that oportunity arises...not sure if they have it in her grade yet.  I have been putting off karate for the boys ever since we moved here cause I just don't know how to fit it all in...and a friend here would teach them for free!

We had meet the teacher night on Thursday night for the kid's that are in Elementary School.  So our whole family loaded up and went to the school.  We went to each of the 4 younger kid's classrooms and got to see what they are doing and all that good stuff.  The kid's love to show us their desks and classrooms, etc.

I forgot to mention that the instrument Colby is going to play will be the trombone.  He seems pretty excited about it.  He will get his rented instrument this week.

I think that is all for catching up right now.

It makes me dizzy, reading all that you do every day.  I can't imagine trying to keep up with all those activities.  You are such an amazing person.

You're so brave to even think about taking on more activities!  I consider my girl's Activity Days as their "Girl Scout" time.  For me that's plenty along with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Young Men, Young Women, Bryson in soccer, Avery starting basketball, completing their Duty to God and Faith in God Awards, school and homework.  Sometimes it 's all I can do to accomplish that list and still have a clean house, meals on the table, magnify my calling and have a happy family!  I can't imagine adding more!  What's hard too is I do 90% of this myself because Dale is so busy working.
